Locus equations determination using the speechdat(II)
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a corpus-based approach to determination of locus equations for Slovenian language. The SpeechDat(II) spoken language database is analyzed first for all available target VCV contexts in order to yield candidate subsets for the acoustic-phonetic measurements. Only the VCVs embedded within judiciously chosen carrier utterances are then selected for the (F2 vowel, F2 onset) measurements. The paper discusses challenges, methodology, and results obtained on the 1000-speaker Slovenian SpeechDat(II) database in the framework of /VbV/, /VdV/, and /VgV/–based determination of locus equations.

The Development and Integration of the LDA-Toolkit Into COST249 SpeechDat(II) SIG Reference Recognizer
This paper presents the development of Linear Discriminant Analysis toolkit (LDA-Toolkit) and its integration into widely used COST249 SpeechDat(II) Task Force Reference Recognizer (RefRec). The crucial parts of the LDA, the determination of LDA classes, as well as the influence of the level of dimensionality reduction on automatic speech recognition performance, are discussed. Evaluation of pr...
متن کاملSpeechDat Cymru: A Large-scale Welsh Telephony Database
We describe the collection of SpeechDat Cymru, a 2000-speaker speech recognition database for the Welsh language, recorded over the public switched telephone network (PSTN). It is collected as part of SpeechDat(II), an ELRA project which deals with the creation of databases in over 20 different European languages and dialects. Design issues common to all SpeechDat(II) databases are discussed, i...
متن کاملPhoneme-based recognition for the norwegian speechdat(II) database
This paper presents results from a number of exible vocabulary recognition experiments on the Norwegian SpeechDat(II) database. A common phoneme-based recogniser design procedure is tested on ve di erent tasks, and for ve di erent training sets. Results verify that reasonably accurate recognisers can be built with the database, using standard HMM techniques. They also quantify the importance of...
متن کاملDAMAGE AND PLASTICITY CONSTANTS OF CONVENTIONAL AND HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE PART II: STATISTICAL EQUATION DEVELOPMENT USING GENETIC PROGRAMMING
Several researchers have proved that the constitutive models of concrete based on combination of continuum damage and plasticity theories are able to reproduce the major aspects of concrete behavior. A problem of such damage-plasticity models is associated with the material constants which are needed to be determined before using the model. These constants are in fact the connectors of constitu...
متن کاملWWWTranscribe - a modular transcription system based on the world wide web
WWWTranscribe is a transcription system based on the WWW. It is platform independent and allows network access to speech databases. Its modular structure make it flexible, and it connects easily to existing signal processing applications or database management systems. WWWTranscribe consists of static HTML documents containing forms. To these forms CGI applications are attached that perform dat...
